Baked Macarons

Your family may not get satisfied with the purchased macarons. So, baking some is the best alternative. Note that filling the macarons when still hot will ruin their texture. So, once the macarons get ready, let them cool on the pan. Once the macarons cool, you can fill them with the fillings you love, or you can decide to store them and fill them when ready to serve. • Airtight Container

Moisture and high temperature can easily mess your delicate delicacy. That's why a fridge or a freezer is the right place to store your macarons. Note that the macarons can remain fresh for 24 hours when kept under room temperature. You don't just put them on a plate and place them in a pantry. Instead, first put them in a clean, dry airtight container. Double-check to ensure that the container lid is tight enough.

Note that macarons can easily stick to each other. So, when placing them in your airtight container, they should never touch each other. That's where the parchment papers come in handy.

After arranging parchment paper on your airtight container, arrange the macarons, and tighten the container. Place it in a pantry or even a dark cupboard and eat the macarons within 24 hours.

  • Fridge

If you don't intend to clear the macarons within 24 hours, you should store them in the fridge. How long do macarons last in a fridge? They can last for 3-7 days, depending on the filling. If you used a highly perishable filling, then eat it within three days. Never store them in a fridge without an airtight container.

Leaving the macarons at the door of your fridge is a bad option. The changing temperatures at the door may ruin it. So, the best option would be at the center. Even if you want to eat macarons within the same day, never refrigerate them on a plate. They will absorb the smell of the other foods faster, thus losing the freshness.
