How Should You Store Leftover Sloppy Joe Meat
Sloppy joes are a great meal, but the trouble comes when there are leftovers. You might be tempted to throw away the extra meat and bread, but don’t do it! There are ways to store that leftover sloppy joe mix so that next time you’re craving sloppy joes you have the perfect solution on your hands.
How to store sloppy joe meat
Before anything, be sure that you have cooled down the sloppiness so it is no longer sizzling hot. If it is, let it cool on the counter for a little while until it isn’t anymore. Once cooled down, you can store your sloppiness in a plastic storage bag or even a Tupperware container if that’s what you have. Make sure not to fill up the container more than halfway so there is room for expansion when freezing and thawing.
Freezing sloppy joe meat
If you don’t plan on using it again for a long time, the best way to store your leftover sloppiness is in the freezer. Make sure not to fill up the container more than halfway so there is room for expansion when freezing and thawing. This way you have easy access to your sloppiness for when you need it!
Thawing sloppy joe meat
When thawing out your sloppiness, do so in the fridge . This way there is no concern over bacteria growing in your food. If your sloppiness was in a plastic storage bag or tupperware container before being frozen, make sure to transfer it before thawing to prevent the bag or container from getting wet.
After all this, your sloppiness should be fresh and ready for another round! You could even make something else with your leftovers instead of eating them again. How about sloppy joe nachos? Or maybe even a sloppy joe potato skin? There are many possibilities with leftover sloppy joe mix, so the next time you make a batch of them you can experiment to your heart’s delight!
